Edinburgh City Council is one of Scotland’s largest councils. They had an outdated solution built on the SharePoint platform which required modernising. The scope of the work was to improve the current solution utilising the Power Platform.

The solution was to allow users to create new projects and track those projects as they progress through the internal business processes. The solution utilised Power Apps to interact with the data, Power Automate for additional complex logic and actions, and Power BI to report on the data.

Users are able to create new projects via a Power App form and find current active projects via search and filter. Upon selection of a Project record in the gallery users are navigated to a screen where they could edit any details of the Project record.

Savings, Issues and Risks can also be logged against a project and viewed via the Power App Project screen. A Power Bi dashboard was utilised to report on both the project data and the related Savings, Issue and Risk for each project.
